I am a Berlin-based costume designer, stylist and costume consultant, working freelance since 2016 across film, television, theatre and advertising. Born and raised in East Germany in a working-class family of textile craftswomen, and shaped by the powerful visual language of the 1990s, I developed an early sensitivity to materiality, the body, posture and visual storytelling.
My creative foundation is rooted in my training as a tailor, as well as my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Fashion Design (HTW Berlin) and Conceptual Fashion Design (Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle).
In my work as a costume designer, I primarily work with carefully selected vintage garments whose quality, cut and materiality can be precisely translated into contemporary costume concepts.
I am particularly drawn to characters with idiosyncrasies — people marked by fractures, contradictions and traces. I understand each costume as a small biography in textile form: revealing what remains unspoken and making atmosphere, attitude and past visible.
